Pitbulls, Good or bad?

I love Pitbulls, and get mad at the people that try to make them look bad. The American Pitbull Terrier is not a "ferocious" breed, the reason they are no longer accepted is not that they are a "bad dog", its the irresponsible owners of the dog. The American Pitbull has been a partner and friend to many Americans for many years. in the early 1900's the Pitbull was the canine mascot, the front "man" of American posters. In WWI a Pitbull was given a medal and declared a general, for saving his unit. The Pitbull breed is a gentle kind and very loyal breed of dogs. The reason they are famous for dog fights is that they simply want to please there master. It is sickening how people take advantage of that.

  • The dog in the film Snatch is a pit bull.
  • Jennifer Lopez used a pit bull in the music video "I'm Glad".
  • Veronica Mars from the UPN show of the same name owns a pit bull named Backup.
  • The pit bull was so respected in the early 1900's that the military chose an image of a dignified pit bull to represent the country on WWI propaganda posters.
  • The pit bull is the only breed to have graced the cover of Life Magazine three times.

  • Rapper Redman was Daddy's original owner. He gave the four-month old dog to Cesar Millan to care for, because he didn't feel he could take care of him properly in his environment.

  • Dakota is a pit bull search and rescue who searched for the remains of the astronauts who lost their lives in explosion of the space shuttle Columbia.
  • Popsicle, who received his name after police found him in a freezer during a drug raid, is famous for sniffing out drugs for the DEA.
  • A pit bull rescued in South Los Angeles by County Fire Station 14 during 1985 was the station's mascot for years.
